Technology is supposed to make our lives easier, allowing us to do things more quickly and efficiently. But too often it seems to make things harder, leaving us with fifty-button remote controls, digital cameras with hundreds of mysterious features and book-length manuals, and cars with dashboard systems worthy of the space shuttle. But I ask you, is life any easier? Here are some suggestions to make your life a little less stressful.
1. Read more
Reading transports a person into a fictional world and stimulates the imagination. Reading can reduce stress, increase happiness and improves mental prowess. Set aside a few minutes each day to read your favorite books.
Take a half hour or so each day to unplug from the digital world. Turn off your phone, computer, and television. Getting away from technology can make people feel more relaxed and focused.
3. Don’t take it personally
Everybody has bad days. Sometimes it is easy to lose your temper and say something that could be hurtful to others. If somebody says something that could offensive to you, take a second to think about the situation. Taking every comment seriously can cause stress and could ruin relationships. Don’t take life too seriously and don’t sweat the small stuff.
4. Plan your routine
Planning your day the night before will make your morning less stressful. Simply choosing your outfit or making your lunch the night before can make your whole day easier. Take a few minutes before bed to plan your routine for the following day.
5. Stay away from drugs
Drugs can provide an instant high that many people find irresistible. Drugs have serious side effects that can easily cause death. Make your life longer and much more enjoyable. Don’t do drugs.
