Cedar Ridge Academy is an accredited, private, international college preparatory therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens. Nestled in the rural serenity of the Uintah Mountain foothills, near Roosevelt, Utah, our therapeutic boarding school provides a safe, drug free learning environment for college bound students. Since 1996, the Cedar Ridge Academy program has emphasized increased autonomy and self-management in the pursuit of educational and behavioral excellence. Cedar Ridge's therapeutic coed boarding school's highly skilled staff and licensed professionals collaborate to create an environment appropriate for positive life changes. The safety and wellbeing of our students is paramount and directly influences each individualized academic plan and therapeutic goal.

Meet the Staff
Robert Nielson
Founder / Clinical Director
Rob earned his B.S. in psychology from Southern Utah University and his M.S. in Counseling and Educational Psychology with a Marriage and Family Therapy emphasis from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is also an experienced, analytical Hypnotherapist. He has worked therapeutically with youth since 1991. He oversees the clinical/therapeutic component of Cedar Ridge.
Wes Nielson
Founder / Executive Director
Wes earned his B.S. in Family and Human Development from Utah State University and his M.S. from the University of Phoenix. Wes helped found Cedar Ridge in 1996. He is currently the Executive Director.
