This is mostly due to the fact that a vast majority of teens, if given the choice, would rather receive treatment in a beautiful, adventurous atmosphere than they would like to receive it locked in a facility 24 hours a day; which does happen at many programs for troubled teens. With no source of the outside world, the troubled teens have nothing but time to work on ones' self, rather then to temporarily forget about troubles by distractions such as TV, internet, etc. This allows the teen to grow emotionally and mature to their full potential.
