Your Face Is Giving All Your Secrets Away

Some people have an almost “6th sense” about them, that they’re able to just read people and their emotions like an open book. But in reality, they might just be a little better at understanding your facial expressions. Because even if you’re trying to hide something, you are most likely giving it away through the look on your face.
Your face has about 43 muscles in it. We use those muscles to convey our emotions, from the biggest grin we can manage to the smallest wrinkle of our brow. That’s why your face hurts from laughing too hard for long periods of time, is those muscles are getting flexed. If you haven’t heard of the television show “Lie to Me,” you might want to check it out. The premise of the show is that there is a man who is an expert in reading body language and facial expressions, and he uses his super human like powers to solve crimes. This isn’t a plug for the show (considering that it was cancelled in 2011), but this video promotes the idea.
If you pay close attention to the people you see throughout the day, you may be able to tell the type of day they’re having by the look on their face. Give it your best shot, can you Identify these facial expressions?

While these are pretty basic emotions, it at least paints the picture. Some people may be harder to read than others, but you would be surprised at how many people wear their emotions right on their sleeve. Next time you see someone who seems like they’re having a bad day, maybe just take a second and say hi. It could make all the difference in the world.
