Any child or teen who attends the new Hunger Games movie will be exposed to many positive messages that any parent would want to impart. Positive Messages Hunger Games Has For Teens And Tweens

1 - A strong female protagonist - Unfortunately, it has become incredibly rare for a movie to have a strong female protagonist. Too often, women in movies are portrayed as being completely helpless or just a showpiece. The Hunger Games turns this stereotype on it head, presenting a female character who is strong and capable.

2 - Violence has serious consequences - This message is particularly noticeable in the newest Hunger Games movie. The main character is shown to suffer severe psychological trauma after being forced to engage in violence during the first movie. This clearly imparts the message that making choices that involve violent behavior has a serious impact on everyone involved.

3 - Race has an important impact on today's society - In the films, there is a portrayal of the difficult politics that is involved in race relations that will give you the opportunity to open up an important dialogue with your children.. The overall message that is put across however is one of equality, and the inherent problems of treating people differently based on their race or socio-economic status.
