Sometimes In Order To Solve Life's Difficult Problems You Just Need To Have the Right Approach

Try thinking about things a little differently.

Is your life difficult because you’re getting in the way of yourself or is someone else causing you some anguish? What is the most important thing to you personally? How do you determine if you’ve had a good day or not? While these questions might seem somewhat arbitrary, hopefully they’ll at least get you thinking. How (in all honesty) do you make any progress in life?

Depending on your personal beliefs, it can be somewhat difficult to wrap your mind around some of those “unanswerable questions” the universe has thrown in our face. Why are we really here? Is there even a point to all of this craziness? Sometimes it’s not so much about the question as it is about the approach. Why are you asking these kinds of thought-provoking questions? Is there a problem in your life that needs resolving, are you a naturally deep thinker, or do you just like to ask questions for the sake of conversation? Each and every day we face challenges and have choices to make. Most of us are critical thinkers, where we essentially take the value of a statement and put it against the weight of our problems. Lateral thinking, on the other hand, is understanding why a pint of ice cream is the perfect solution to doing bad on a test, or when you’ve just had a terrible day at the office.

Seriously, Change Your Approach

It’s a fairly safe assumption to make that most people stick to the status quo. You graduate high school, get a job, go to college, get married, have a few kids, and enjoy life. But believe it or not, this is not the definitive way to a successful life. There are plenty of happy and successful people who are college, or even high school drop outs. Now I’m not saying drop out of school, but maybe think about why you’re there. Are you in school because that’s what everyone else does? Is it because you need the higher education to qualify for that dream job you want? That’s for you to decide. Figuring out how to take a different approach and learning how to think for yourself can unlock a path you never could have imagined. While this isn’t always successful, it sometimes is worth a shot.

It can be difficult to re-wire your brain to accept a different way of thinking. But as we well know, anything worth doing is worth doing well, no matter how difficult it may seem. If you feel like your problems can’t be solved by traditional solutions, it might be time to step outside the box and try something new. You never know, you could create the next big thing.
