Some Things That Introverts Do

Introverts are some of the most fascinating people on the planet. There are roughly 6 billion people on the planet, and if you’re an introvert you might not love spending time with any of them (although one of the common myths is that introverts aren’t social). Check out this list to see if you might be an introvert.

1. You HATE Small Talk

Introverts despise small talk. What’s the point? Why do you need to know how someone feels about the weather? That doesn’t really affect you in any way, and if you’re an extreme case, small talk can even cause anxiety. Small talk even seem such an impersonal form of communication- why talk about the new bowling ally that was built up the street when you can talk to someone about their dreams and ambitions?

2. You’re Very Easily Distracted

Introverts tend to be very busy people, believe it or not. When you normally think of an introvert, you might think of someone who doesn’t like to leave the house or do much at all, but that’s not really the case at all. Introverts get overloaded with things to do then shut down.

3. Down Time Is The Most Important Part Of Your Day

To an extrovert, down time might seem like a waste. But to an introvert, down time is key if you want to get anything done. Introverts need time alone to recharge and unwind. If you’ve had a long day at work, coming home and doing more work might just kill you.

4. You’re Too Old For Your Own Good

If you’ve ever been called an “old soul” or think that the people around you are extremely immature, chances are that your’e an introvert. Introverts are observers, think before they speak, and are extremely analytical. They understand new situations much quicker than most others.

5. You Get The Big Picture

Introverts are more excited about the end goal and the big picture rather than dealing with the details. Who cares how you get there as long as you arrive in one piece? Let someone else worry about the small stuff.

6. You’d Rather Give a Speech In Front of 500 Than Have a One on One Conversation

Introverts can be great leaders and fantastic public speakers (tie in #1 with #5). In fact, there are many celebrities who are classic introverts. They shine in the spotlight but the minute it’s time for the meet and greet, and they’re like a whole new person.
