Is Old Spice Mom Song a Little Creepy?

Teenage boys start to transistion from legos and boogers to girls and cars. For some moms, it can be a difficult time because they feel like they are being replaced. In this latest Old Spice commercial you see several moms that are having a hard time that their little boys are growing up to be men. Now this video doesn’t have the suaveness of the Old Spice guy rapidly transitioning through scenes and ending up on a horse with your favorite tickets, but it is a little catchy. Some people think that it sends a message of overly attached moms and that it is a little creepy. Here is a look at the video if you haven’t seen it yet.
Super cheese factor
Now it is a little cheesy, but it’s all in fun. There aren’t any moms, ok maybe a few, that would go to this level of stalking, but that’s what makes it funny. The real story here is the transition from boy to man. During this awkward phase when their body begins to change and they start to like girls, boys are always looking for a way to look cooler than they are and Old Spice is trying to fill that gap with this demographic
It's the age old dilema of the mother son bond and when is the right time to let go. As boys mature eventually they have to leave the nest and when you think about it moms at one point took someone elses little boy away from their mom. If that natural transition doesn't happen then you create a Failure to Launch situtaion and a son that refuses to leave home. Embrase the change, enjoy the video, and keep it light hearted, and always remember that no mater how old they get, boys always need their moms.
