14 Celebrities Who Were Bullied In High School

Bullying is a serious problem and one that effects many different people. A number of celebrities have come forward and talked about their experiences with bullying while they were in school. These 14 celebrities struggled with bullying while they were in school.

1 - Lady Gaga

If you're a fan of Lady Gaga, then it probably comes as no surprise that she was bullied in school. She has been incredibly vocal about her experiences and many of her lyrics deal with being different from the norm or an outcast.

2 - Eminem

Growing up poor and in a predominantly African American neighborhood, Eminem experienced a lot of bullying as a child. This actually continued into early adulthood with many of his peers being very resistant to his rap aspirations. 

3 - Rosario Dawson

Has talked publicly about how she was tomboy and this caused her peers to tease her for much of her childhood. She has said that this caused serious confidence issues she had to overcome.

4 - Megan Fox

It may be hard to believe these days, but Megan Fox was bullied during high school. She has talked that she was a "nerd" in high school and was often bullied by the more popular girls. 

5 - Tom Cruise

Everyone knows that Tom Cruise is short and that doesn't get in his way now, but when he was in high school classmates teased him about his stature regularly.

6 - Tyra Banks

Like Tom Cruise, Tyra was bullied for her height. However, because of her great looks and her height she was able to launch a successful modeling career. Despite this, she has stated that she is still self-conscious about her height due to this bullying.

7 - Sandra Bullock

Traveled a lot so she had trouble making friends. She has talked about how she was perpetually an outcast during much of her childhood.

8 - Emma Watson

Because she started working on the Harry Potter series at such a young age, Emma Watson was still in school during the filming of the many of the movies. She has talked extensively about how her classmates would mock her about her role in the films.

9 - Jennifer Lawrence

She has recently received a great deal of attention in the press due to her statements about the pressure to be thin in Hollywood and how she was bullied about her weight at times.

10 - Christina Aguilera

Christina was bullied so bad during her time in the Mickey Mouse Club that she later sought out therapy. Many child stars who stay in school after achieving fame become targets in this way.

11 - Chris Rock

Grew up in a white, upper-class area and was shunned for being one of the few minorities. This lead him to try comedy as a means of fitting in and coping with the bullying.

12 - Kate Winslet 

She wasn't always as skinny as she is today and was bullied for her weight during her childhood. She has talked extensively about how this damaged her confidence while she was growing up.

13 - Ke$ha

She has made numerous statements about her struggles with bullying during her childhood and how this impacted her while she was growing up.

14 - Tiger Woods

Had a stutter for much of his childhood and was harassed mercilessly by classmates. This is one of the reasons he was so focused on being the best at golf.
